Zip Link Beds Made in Solid Oak - King Size

Solid oak zip and link beds: two single beds that join together as one king or super king bed, handmade to order in Britain with UK delivery. Two small singles join to make a 5ft king, and two standard singles make a 6ft super king.

These high quality zip link and lock together beds are handmade from solid oak in our Derbyshire workshop. We were asked to make these for a customer who had already purchased one of our solid oak four poster beds along with a bespoke platform bed previously for his luxury guest house in the Lake District.

Having a double bedroom with limited space, we were asked to make a king size zip and link bed frame with a space saving frame and so this is the design we came up with.
We were so pleased with the end result, the design is plain and simple although super strong and beautiful wooden zip and link bed design.

Solid Oak Zip & Link Bed Headboard Options

It has so many options in terms of headboard styles which can be added if you want to add a headboard or maybe you prefer your zip and link beds without a headboard perhaps adding a panel to your wall instead which we can design and make for you.
We've added a few photos examples of past headboards and wall panels we have made previously for customers shown in the photos, so please feel free to call us to discuss options.

Zip & link bed: buyer questions

Will I feel the join in the middle?

With two mattresses, there will be a join at the centre. How noticeable it feels depends on the mattresses and bedding you choose. A mattress topper spanning both sides can help soften the feel of the join.

Which mattresses work best?

Choose two mattresses of the same height and firmness, sized to match your chosen frame: two small singles for a king, or two standard singles for a super king. A compatible zip-and-link mattress pair is another option if you prefer the two mattresses to fasten together.

What about stairs and narrow doorways?

The bed is delivered in sections rather than as one full-size frame, making the pieces easier to move into the bedroom. Please measure any tight doorways, turns and staircases before ordering, and contact us if access is a concern.

Is assembly included?

No the zip link bed frame is delivered in sections for self assembly. We don't offer an assembly service although we do offer over the phone help.

When will it arrive?

Each bed is made to order in our Derbyshire workshop. Please allow around 4–6 weeks for delivery.

Shipping & Returns

UK Mainland Delivery

Our handcrafted four poster beds, solid wood beds, and bedroom furniture are delivered throughout mainland UK. Delivery to outer regions — including the Scottish Highlands and Outer Hebrides — is available by special request and bespoke quote.

Delivery Costs

As a guide, our standard mainland UK shipping rates are:

  • Beds & large furniture — £85.00
  • Bedside cabinets — £45.00
  • Stools — £12.00

For outer regions or international delivery, please call us for an accurate quote before ordering.

How Your Order Arrives

Your bed will arrive by large van, packed in manageable sections for home self-assembly. Every piece is extremely well wrapped to ensure it reaches you in immaculate condition. Please check the outer packaging for any obvious signs of damage on arrival. Your delivery driver will be happy to carry your furniture inside.

We use a specialist furniture courier for beds and larger items, and a separate courier for smaller pieces such as stools and bedside cabinets.

Delivery Communication

Once your bed is made, I'll contact you personally to arrange a convenient delivery date. You'll also receive confirmation once your order has been collected by the courier, along with tracking details by text or email.

We ask for your understanding in the rare event that a delivery doesn't go entirely to plan — we will always do our best to ensure everything runs smoothly.

If You're Not Home

If you are unavailable to receive your delivery, a re-delivery charge may apply to cover any additional costs incurred.

Returns Policy

Free return and re-delivery applies to damaged items only. We do not accept returns or exchanges.

Collection

You are welcome to collect your order from our workshop in Wirksworth, near Matlock, Derbyshire (DE4 4FY), or arrange your own courier collection, provided payment has been made in full in advance.
