Modern Rustic Chunky Pine Planked Bed

Bring warm, modern-rustic character to your bedroom with our chunky pine planked bed, handmade to order in our Derbyshire workshop. Its clean lines and simple planked design create a modern feel, while the substantial solid pine, tactile waxed finish and carefully made construction keep the room feeling warm and welcoming.

Why choose this handmade wooden bed?

  • Chunky solid pine with a rustic appearance and smooth finish
  • Clean, modern planked design with a tall headboard and contrasting lower footboard
  • Strong, sturdy bed base with wide wooden slats seated in grooves and screwed securely
  • Mortise-and-tenon joints with bolted rails for dependable strength
  • Handmade and waxed by skilled furniture makers in the UK
  • Made to order in standard sizes or bespoke dimensions
  • Nationwide Mainland UK delivery available
  • Covered by our 10-year guarantee

Modern style with natural warmth

Simple enough for a contemporary bedroom but full of natural character, this modern rustic wooden bed is easy to live with. The smooth pine feels lovely to the touch, while the clean planked detailing, chunky posts and carefully secured frame give it a confident, considered look.

Because every bed is made to order, we can create a bespoke size to make the most of an awkward space or a room with unusual dimensions. If you need help choosing a size or arranging delivery, please get in touch with our workshop team.

Handmade in Derbyshire, delivered across Mainland UK

We build each bed in our own Derbyshire furniture workshop, using the same strong base construction across our bed range. This attention to detail means you receive a genuinely handmade UK bed, made specifically for you rather than a mass-produced alternative, with delivery available across Mainland UK.

Shipping & Returns

UK Mainland Delivery

Our handcrafted four poster beds, solid wood beds, and bedroom furniture are delivered throughout mainland UK. Delivery to outer regions — including the Scottish Highlands and Outer Hebrides — is available by special request and bespoke quote.

Delivery Costs

As a guide, our standard mainland UK shipping rates are:

  • Beds & large furniture — £85.00
  • Bedside cabinets — £45.00
  • Stools — £12.00

For outer regions or international delivery, please call us for an accurate quote before ordering.

How Your Order Arrives

Your bed will arrive by large van, packed in manageable sections for home self-assembly. Every piece is extremely well wrapped to ensure it reaches you in immaculate condition. Please check the outer packaging for any obvious signs of damage on arrival. Your delivery driver will be happy to carry your furniture inside.

We use a specialist furniture courier for beds and larger items, and a separate courier for smaller pieces such as stools and bedside cabinets.

Delivery Communication

Once your bed is made, I'll contact you personally to arrange a convenient delivery date. You'll also receive confirmation once your order has been collected by the courier, along with tracking details by text or email.

We ask for your understanding in the rare event that a delivery doesn't go entirely to plan — we will always do our best to ensure everything runs smoothly.

If You're Not Home

If you are unavailable to receive your delivery, a re-delivery charge may apply to cover any additional costs incurred.

Returns Policy

Free return and re-delivery applies to damaged items only. We do not accept returns or exchanges.

Collection

You are welcome to collect your order from our workshop in Wirksworth, near Matlock, Derbyshire (DE4 4FY), or arrange your own courier collection, provided payment has been made in full in advance.
